This Sunday, April 17, 2022, all are invited to join us for our Resurrection Sunday Services!

We will meet upstairs starting at 9AM to decorate the church cross (please bring any loose flowers from your garden to help adorn the cross!), followed by the 9:30AM annual Resurrection Sunday Breakfast, led by the men of Bethany Bible Church.

Following the breakfast, we will finish the decoration of the church cross, and then the Resurrection Sunday Worship Service at 10:45AM.

After the service, the kids will meet on the parsonage grounds for the Resurrection Sunday Treasure Hunt. Please share and invite your family, friends, and neighbors with this flyer – all are welcome!

Sunday, April 5, 2020 Order of Service and Hymns

Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, Governor Kate Brown has issued a state-wide ban today on all gatherings in Oregon that are 250 people or greater. This ban will be in effect for the next four weeks (all the way up to Good Friday, April 10); at which time things will be re-evaluated. She has also issued guidance to businesses to increase the social-spacing in workplaces to up to three-feet distance between people. The risk of infection is very high; and by taking wise preventative measures, it is hoped that the spread of the virus will be slowed; and will allow healthcare workers and local hospitals to serve as many people as possible without overwhelming the system.

Now; this has resulted in several churches in Oregon switching their services to an ‘on-line’ format, and encouraging their congregations to worship with them at home. And even though Bethany Bible Church is within those guidelines–because of the high-risk factors for many folks in our particular congregation–the leadership team has decided to postpone all further services ON-SITE until Good Friday, April 10.

WE WILL STILL, HOWEVER, HAVE CHURCH! We are going to broadcast our Sunday service on Facebook Live. A link will be provided on our website (bethanybible.org), on our Facebook page, and via email newsletter from me.

On Saturday evening, we will be posting sermon notes and hymn lyrics on our website (bethanybible.org). Then, join us via Facebook Live at the usual time (10:45 am each Sunday morning), and we will enjoy worship together at home. Be sure to send some prayer requests to me before then; and we will join together in bringing them to the Lord. (You will also be able to watch the service later, as it will remain on the church’s Facebook wall.) We plan to give this a try for a couple of weeks, and then re-evaluate. Most of all, we want you–and everyone else–to all be safe and well until we get together again!

We are asking that, during this unusual period, you continue to send your tithes and offerings to the church. You’re certainly fine to come and drop it off at the church. If you send them by mail (at Bethany Bible Church, 18245 NW Germantown Road, Portland, OR 97231), or bring them personally, I will make sure that they get to our treasurer as soon as possible and are processed immediately. And I will also send out the written sermon and the Bible study notes as usual during the course of the week.

These sure are unusual times. But this is the situation that God has given us to work with; and we can do this to His glory. Jesus’ church has had to deal with this kind of thing many times before in history. Let’s trust God together.

I love you very much and appreciate very much your patience.

And just think of what a great Resurrection Sunday we’re going to have!

- Pastor Greg Allen
